description: This study aims to determine the effect of the LAB RI (Learning by Research) learning model on students' cognitive values. There are six stages used in this learning including orientation, research design, exploration, analyze, conclusion and exhibition. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method. The population in this study were students of SMAN 9 Tangerang Regency, the sample used a simple random technique, students of class X MIA 5 as the experimental class and X MIA 7 as the control class. The instrument used was multiple choice questions with data analysis techniques using the two sample Kolmogrof Smirnov test and the non-parametric Mann-Whitney test. The results of the Mann-Whitney test have a result of 0.03 (P <0.05) this means that H° is rejected and H¹ is accepted, so there is an effect of the LAB RI (Learning by Research) learning model on students' cognitive values.
