TY - THES N2 - One of the industries that has an impact on environmental pollution is the tofu manufacturing industry. Environmental pollution can occur due to liquid waste that is discharged from the tofu manufacturing process directly into the river without sufficient awareness from business actors about environmentally friendly tofu liquid waste management. Therefore, to minimize these negative impacts, tofu liquid waste that is discharged into the river must go through a processing process first. The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) as a phytoremediation mediator in tofu industrial liquid waste, which will be used to improve fisheries cultivation along the Ciomas River. This study will use an experimental approach to tofu liquid waste that will be processed using water hyacinth plants (Eichhornia crassipes) through the phytoremediation process. In addition, zebrafish will be added to the tofu liquid waste to observe the survival rate, behavior, initial weight and final weight. The results of this procedure will be examined based on the quality criteria of TSS, COD, BOD, and pH of soybean processed industrial liquid waste. Water hyacinth is effective in increasing pH levels and reducing COD, BOD and TSS levels in tofu waste within 21 days of remediation, in the pH parameter there was the largest increase in the 100% treatment, which was 4.99ppm (153%), in the COD parameter there was the largest decrease in the 75% treatment, which was 1109ppm (19%), 1654ppm (59%) and in the TSS treatment there was a large decrease in the 75% treatment, which was 1109ppm (19%).
