The method used in the research was a quasi-experimental quantitative method using a nonequivalent control group design. The research was conducted in class X-E with 38 students as the experimental class, and X-F with 40 students as the control class. The results of the study are as follows: (1) There is an effect of using the Treffinger learning model on students' critical thinking skills in class X Indonesian history subjects at MAN 4 Pandeglang. Hypothesis testing through a two-party t test using Ms. Excel with independent sample t-test calculations, obtained a tcount value of 4.05 ≥ ttable of 1.66 with a significance level of 0.05, so H0 is rejected. H1 is accepted. (2) the critical thinking abilities of students who use the treffinger learning model are higher than students who use discovery learning. The average posttest score for the experimental class was 77.17, and the control class was 70.00. Shows that the experimental class has a higher average value than the control class. The Treffinger learning model can be used as a reference in the history learning process, especially in the application of treffinger syntax, which can encourage critical thinking skills in solving problems faced by conceptualizing, analyzing sources or references used by students, and applying them to make decisions in solving problems. Based on the research results, using the treffinger learning model has the following advantages: (1) students can better understand concepts by solving a problem.
