This research aims to know and explain the application of protection of Anthurium Red Tiger and to know and analyse the efforts that can be made by plant breeders of Anthurium Red Tiger in maintaining their economic rights. The theories used in this research are legal protection theory and rights theory. The research method used is the normative-empirical method with the research specification of the statutory approach. Data sources are primary data and secondary data using data collection techniques in the form of interviews and literature studies and analysed descriptively qualitative. The results of the research on the application of protection of  Anthurium Red Tiger based on Law Number 29 of 2000 concerning Protection of Plant Varieties show that plant breeders have not applied the protection of plant varieties in accordance with Article 1 Number 2 and Article 2, because plant breeders have not understood in detail about the protection of plant varieties, the right to protection of plant varieties, sanctions for violations of plant varieties. Efforts that can be made by plant breeders of Anthurium Red Tiger in maintaining their economic rights by resolving infringement disputes are regulated in Law Number 29 of 2000 concerning Protection of Plant Varieties, which can be done by litigation in Article 66 to Article 69 or and non-litigation by mediation at the PVP office, but these efforts cannot be made by plant breeders because plant breeders have not registered their plant varieties so they do not have PVP rights certificates. Therefore, the suggestion in this study is that plant breeders are expected to immediately register for plant variety protection and prepare BUSS requirements. In addition, the PPVTPP of the Ministry of Agriculture is expected to make more efforts in encouraging the registration of varieties evenly, especially for individual plant breeders.
