description: The phenomenon of land transportation accidents in recent years in  Indonesia has shown an increase, including those involving public transportation  such as buses. As a mode of transportation used by millions of people, buses play  a vital role in community mobility. However, the high number of accidents not  only affects passengers, but also bus drivers who are often the ones who receive  less attention in terms of legal protection. Bus drivers face very high occupational  risks due to professional demands that involve great responsibility in ensuring the  safety of passengers in the midst of road conditions that are often not ideal.  Therefore, there is a need for adequate legal protection related to accident  insurance for bus drivers. This coverage not only provides financial protection for  victims who experience accidents but also ensures their rights are fulfilled,  including medical expenses, rehabilitation, and compensation. To protect bus  drivers from occupational risks, the Indonesian government has provided an  Occupational Accident Insurance Program through the Social Security  Organizing Agency (BPJS). Unfortunately, there are still bus companies that have  not registered their drivers in the program, one of which is PO Blue Star Bus. The  identification of this problem is How is the legal protection for bus drivers at PT  Blue Star Karsa Unggul who have work accidents according to applicable laws  and How is the responsibility given by PT Blue Star Karsa Unggul to bus drivers  who have work accidents in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in  Indonesia. The research method used in this research is empirical juridical with  the collection techniques used in this research using library study collection  techniques and field studies through interviews. The results of this study indicate  that the legal protection of bus drivers at PT Blue Star Karsa Unggul has not  been carried out perfectly because the bus drivers are not registered in the BPJS  Employment Accident Guarantee. However, PT Blue Star Karsa Unggul still  provides responsibility in other schemes if the bus driver has an accident, namely  in the form of assistance with medical expenses and compensation by registering  with raharja service insurance. As well as company personal compensation if the  accident is not included in the type of accident that can be claimed by Jasa  Raharja.
