description: The transportation sector is considered as one of the most potential sectors in causing air pollution when compared to other sectors. The contribution of vehicle exhaust gas as a source of air pollution in big cities reaches 60-70%, while the   contribution of exhaust gas from industrial chimneys is around 10-15%. The rest comes from other combustion sources such as households, garbage burning, forest fires and others. This study aims to look at vehicle volume, (CO) levels, and meteorology by analyzing the relationship between traffic density and air quality in urban areas. The analysis method used in this study refers to the Regulation of the Minister of Environment No. 12 of 2010 concerning the implementation of air pollution control in the region. Total vehicles during the 4 days of the study amounted to 62244 units of vehicles. Vehicle volume tends to be high on Monday at 06.15 - 07.15 WIB and on Tuesday at 06.15 - 07.15 WIB. Gas concentration data (CO) tends to be high in the morning and evening. This is due to the high volume of vehicles that cause congestion, causing (CO) levels to be high, and the calculation of (CO) gas concentration levels at the location is included in the very unhealthy air quality category on Monday at 11:30 - 12:30 WIB, the rest is included in the hazardous category because it has exceeded the 300 range. This is because the research location has a land use function that focuses on services and industrial production. The results of the study show that there is a tendency with the increase in the number of vehicles, the level of gas concentration (CO) will increase, as well as if the number of vehicles decreases, the level of gas concentration (CO) will   decrease.
