description: This study aims to develop flashcard media (Picture Word Cards) used to train the  beginning reading skills of grade 1 students of SDN Pasuluhan. The research was  conducted in October-November 2024, focusing on aspects of media feasibility,  improvement of students' beginning reading skills, and students' responses to the  use of flashcards. The method used was R&D (Research and Development)  research with the 4D development model (Define, Design, Development,  Disseminate). Data collection was done through observation, interviews,  questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The results showed that flashcards can  help students find a learning style that suits their needs. Learners' responses show  that this media increases interaction between students, communication with  teachers, and knowledge through reflection activities. The improvement of  students' reading ability can be seen from the pre-test result of 59, category  “Needs Guidance” which increased to post-test of 98, category “Very Good”. This  flashcard media is considered very feasible with a feasibility percentage of  84.25%.
