In this tradition, the reciprocity obtained by the contributing community is not the same as or comparable to what is donated. This study aims to determine the reciprocity in the perelek tradition in the community of Kampung Ceger, Lebak Wangi Village, East Sepatan District, Tangerang Regency. This research uses Marcell Mauss's analysis of Gift Theory. The research methodology used is qualitative, using ethnographic techniques. The findings of this study show that the perelek tradition is a practice that is different from other practices involving the voluntary donation of rice by the people of Kampung Ceger, the proceeds of which are allocated to the underprivileged and the funding of mosques. There are two things that motivate people to contribute to the perelek tradition in Ceger Village, even though the rewards received are unequal: the spiritual and social obligations inherent in the community. Although there is no proportional reciprocity in the perelek tradition, the results benefit both parties. The community that donates receives rewards, while the community as the recipient receives assistance to meet their food needs. This has resulted in changes within the community, including increased solidarity and mutually beneficial cooperation, support for the less fortunate, and the successful establishment of the Al-Mujahidin Mosque in Ceger Village.
