description: The  pomfret is one of the largest freshwater commodities in Indonesia. According   to statistics from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, the production of    pomfret in Banten Province in 2021 reached 36.39 tons out of a total production of   128,635 tons of freshwater  pomfret throughout Indonesia. One of the factors   determining the success of  pomfret cultivation is disease control, as diseases in   aquaculture are generally caused by bacterial infections. Therefore, preventing the   spread of disease must be carried out as early as possible to avoid outbreaks that   may lead to economic losses. One method to prevent the spread of bacterial diseases   is by providing fish feed mixed with turmeric, as turmeric contains antibacterial   properties found in curcumin. Curcumin can be broken down by enzymes, resulting   in sulfur dioxide, which has antimicrobial properties that can inhibit essential   enzyme activity.
