description: This study aims to determine the environmental literacy levels of students in Adiwiyata high schools and non-Adiwiyata high schools in Serang City. This research is a comparative study with an ex post facto design. The population of this study includes all students in grades XI and XII from SMAN 3 Serang City, SMAN 4 Serang City, SMAN 5 Serang City, and SMAN 8 Serang City. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. Data for this research were collected using environmental literacy instruments consisting of environmental knowledge   test questions, questionnaires on environmental care attitudes and pro-environmental behaviors. In addition, it also uses an interview instruments for the implementation of the Adiwiyata program aimed at the deputy head of curriculum and biology teachers. The average environmental literacy score for students in Adiwiyata schools is 80,93. In contrast, the average environmental literacy score for students in non-Adiwiyata high schools is 76,52. The results also indicate a significant difference in environmental literacy scores between students in Adiwiyata high schools and non-Adiwiyata high schools in Serang City. Environmental literacy is crucial for supporting sustainable development through consistent programs implemented by schools.
