description: Students' cognitive abilities play an important role in determining the right learning model to achieve learning objectives. The purpose of this research was to determine the cognitive ability profile of class X MIPA 4 students at SMAN 13 Kabupaten Tangerang by applying the advance organizer learning model to animalia material. This research was a descriptive research. Data collection was conducted in May 2023. Data collection was carried out through objective tests, observation sheets, and supported by the results of teacher interviews and documentation. Based on the results showed the highest average value of cognitive ability at level C2 (understanding) was 86.22 in the very good category, while the lowest at level C4 (analyzing) was 79.88 in the medium category. From the study can be concluded that class X MIPA 4 students of SMAN 13 Tangerang Regency for the 2022/2023 Academic Year have cognitive abilities in the good category with an average of 81.93. The results of this study can be used as a reference for teachers in selecting or implementing learning models that are appropriate to students' cognitive profiles in implementing or modifying learning models that are appropriate to cognitive abilities so that students' cognitive abilities can be optimized.
