The hydrogen production process that still relies on non-renewable energy requires other alternative methods that are environmentally friendly. In addition, the problem of water pollution is a major concern for the wider community. One of the water pollution is caused by the dye methylene blue which has a structure that is difficult to decompose. The method for producing hydrogen while also being able to decompose methylene blue waste is by using electrocoagulation, photocatalysis, and a combination of both. The photocatalyst used in this method is TiO2 Nanotube Array with graphitic carbon nitride (TNTAs/g-C3N4) sensitizer, where g-C3N4 is synthesized from urea and thiourea. This study aims to determine the effect of using electrocoagulation, photocatalysis, or a combination of methods on the hydrogen production process and the degradation of methylene blue waste. TNTAs photocatalysts are synthesized using the anodization method, then coated with g-C3N4 sensitizer to become TNTAs/g-C3N4 photocatalysts through the impregnation process. Observing the effect of photocatalyst use and different methods on hydrogen production and degradation of methylene blue waste. Characterization using Vis spectrophotometry, SEM EDX, and XRD. SEM results show that the morphology of TNTAs has a diameter of 178 nm and a thickness of 89 nm. The best photocatalyst performance is produced by thiourea-synthesized TNTAs/g-C3N4 with an H2 production capacity of 10.678 μmol and a methylene blue degradation capacity of 64%. The combination process of electrocoagulation and photocatalysis was carried out using TNTAs/g-C3N4 photocatalyst, aluminum anode, and 316 stainless steel cathode at a voltage of 50 V for 3 hours showing optimum conditions for the H2 production process of up to 1554.830 μmol and a total percentage of methylene blue degradation of 82%. date: 2024-01-22 type: Thesis type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: id identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/45655/9/Kamila%20Ulya%20Satiti_3335200120_Fulltext.pdf format: text language: id identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/45655/2/Kamila%20Ulya%20Satiti_3335200120_01.pdf format: text language: id identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/45655/3/Kamila%20Ulya%20Satiti_3335200120_02.pdf format: text language: id identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/45655/4/Kamila%20Ulya%20Satiti_3335200120_03.pdf format: text language: id identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/45655/5/Kamila%20Ulya%20Satiti_3335200120_04.pdf format: text language: id identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/45655/6/Kamila%20Ulya%20Satiti_3335200120_05.pdf format: text language: id identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/45655/7/Kamila%20Ulya%20Satiti_3335200120_Ref.pdf format: text language: id identifier: https://eprints.untirta.ac.id/45655/8/Kamila%20Ulya%20Satiti_3335200120_Lamp.pdf identifier: Handayani, Vica and Satiti, Kamila Ulya (2024) KOMBINASI ELEKTROKOAGULASI DAN FOTOKATALISIS UNTUK PRODUKSI HIDROGEN DAN DEGRADASI LIMBAH METHYLENE BLUE MENGGUNAKAN TiO2 NANOTUBE ARRAY DENGAN SENSITIZER GRAPHITIC CARBON NITRIDE (TNTAs/g-C3N4).
