description: Farmer groups are one of the institutional systems in rural areas, whose function is  to organize farmers on the basis of shared interests, similar social, economic and  resource environmental conditions. Farmer group institutions have an important  role in agricultural development. The perception of the farmer group has an  affiliation with the level of farmer participation in the farmer group. The research  method uses descriptive and correlational statistical analysis. The research results  show that non-formal education, organizational experience and self-motivation are  quite good. External factors include government and private encouragement, the  number of outreach visits, choice of media and intensity of stimuli are also quite  good. Members' perceptions about the urgency of farmer groups as a forum for  obtaining programs, increasing farmer capacity and as a means for farmer  learning. Level of participation in planning involvement (71.58), implementation  (63.16%) and evaluation of activities (66.3%). Participation (Y2) through  members' perceptions of the urgency of farmer groups (Y1) research results show  that the effect is not significant. Internal factors (X1) on the level of participation  (Y2) through member perceptions about the urgency of farmer groups (Y1) have a  p-value of more than 0.05.
