The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Sampel data collection was carried out in August-September 2020. Data on critical thinking skills were obtained from the pretest and posttest control class and experimental class. Data analysis using t-test. Based on the research results, it shows that there are differences in critical thinking skills between students who use video slideshow   learning media and students who do not use video slideshow learning media. The results of data analysis can be seen from the one-party test with α = 0.05,   namely1.44> -2.64, then Ho is rejected and Hα is accepted. There is a significant influence in the use of slideshow-based video media on critical thinking skills of students in pre-literate Indonesian material. The results of data analysis can be seen from the mean difference test (t-test) of one party with α = 0.05, namely1.44> -2.64, then Ho is rejected and Hα is accepted.
