description: This study examines the role of the Radar Banten Newspaper, especially in political news, namely the 2014 Election. Radar Banten is one of the major media among the many media in Banten. It was founded on June 2, 2000 with the initial name Harian Banten, and also made its first printing on the same date. Radar Banten had a passionate spirit when it first appeared in the 30th province of Indonesia, and in Serang City there was only one newspaper published in this city, namely Radar Banten. This study also uses liberal press theory, responsible press theory, and political communication theory, and uses historiography and interpretation methods. The information in the Radar Banten newspaper in the 2014 Election news contains various political elements, in terms of campaigns, funding flows, and political parties that have not met the requirements. Although Banten itself is known for its dynasty politics, Radar Banten as one of Banten's large local media shows its capacity as an independent media that cannot be   ridden, Radar Banten itself has its own standards in presenting news to a number of its platforms.
