In today’s era of information technologhy development, online media plays a very important role in disseminating information. Detik.com is the most active media in disseminating information about water pollution. As McQuail theory of mass media effects states, mass media can influence audiences quickly or slowly through the news delivered with the result can cause cognitive, affective, and behavioural effects. By using theory of media effects, researcher analyze the effect of news exposure as measured by frequency, duration, and attention which aims to prove news can influence audience. This research is a quantitative research using a survey method distributed to 69 journalistic students of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The result proves that there is an effect of water pollution news exposure on the environmental consciousness attitude of journalism students of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University.
