By analyzing the structure of personality and its classifications, this research identifies the various forms of feelings, actions, emotions, and thoughts of the characters in the novel. This research employs qualitative methods with a literary psychology approach. The data collection techniques used in this study are reading and note-taking techniques. The data source for this research is the novel Pulang by Leila S. Chudori. The data consists of quoted dialogues, paragraphs, or sentences that depict the personality and emotions of the characters in the novel. The findings of the research reveal a total of 112 data points, with 43 data points classified under the structure of literary psychology: 14 data points for the Id, 21 for the Ego, and 6 for the Superego. As for the classification of emotions, 69 data points were identified, comprising 12 for guilt, 1 for repressed guilt, 0 for self-punishment, 6 for shame, 23 for sadness, 14 for hatred, and 13 for love. The findings and analysis in this research are utilized to develop a teaching module for 12th-grade high school students.
