The method used in this research is method of combination (mixed method) whit incorporation of Quantitative-qualitative and concurrent embedded design. The study involved two classes of experimental class and control class. The population of this research is all students in grade VII SMP N 4 Kota Serang. Sample were class VII I an control class and VII E an experimental class. The instrument used in this study of matematical communication ability tes instrument, non-test instruments in the form of scale of self regulated learning, observation sheets, interview guides, documentation as well as the researchers itself. The result of the study concludes that ultimate achievement and increase the matematical communication ability experimental class is better than the control class, the ultimate achievement and increase self-regulated learning experimental class is not better than the control class.
