description: This study aims to measure the mental toughness level of softball athletes in   Cilegon City before competing, as mental toughness is a crucial aspect of sports   psychology that affects athletes' performance under pressure. Data was collected   using a questionnaire assessing confidence, emotional control, focus, and  motivation. The research subjects consisted of 30 softball athletes from Cilegon City   aged 18-25 years, and purposive sampling was used in selecting the sample. This   study utilized a quantitative descriptive approach. The questionnaire results   indicated validity, with r calculated > r table at 0.361, and reliability with   Cronbach's Alpha > 0.6, indicating the reliability of the research instrument.   Overall, the mental toughness of the athletes was categorized as "low," with 17%   (5 athletes) classified as high, 43% (13 athletes) as low, and 40% (12 athletes) as   very low. The study’s findings highlight the importance of implementing mental   training programs for Cilegon City softball athletes to enhance their mental   toughness, which can support team achievement in future competitions.
