description: Determining joint property often becomes a polemic, especially in the case of  polygamous marriages, which are marriages between a man and several wives at  the same time. The joint property produced during the marriage, whether with the  first, second, third or fourth wife, is meant to be a joint result which is the joint  property of each party. The identification of the problems studied in this research  is first, how is the determination of the status of joint assets in polygamous  marriages related to Law Number 16 of 2019 regarding amendments to Law  Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage, second, what are the considerations of  judges in case studies of court decisions Bantul Religion Number  277/Pdt.G/2021/PA.Btl, the theory used is the Al-Nasafah Theory and Positive  Legal Theory, the research method used is the normative juridical method, and  the research is qualitative, while the data source used is legal material primary,  secondary legal materials and tertiary legal materials, data collection techniques  are carried out through literature study and then the data is analyzed qualitatively  and primary data is obtained through literature study and the problem being  researched to find answers. Based on the results of the first research, article 35 of  Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning marriage states that property acquired during  marriage becomes joint property. Second, the Panel of Judges has attempted to  reconcile the Petitioner and Respondent, by giving the Petitioner and Respondent  a view to think again about their intention to engage in polygamy with all the  consequences as intended by Article 130 HIR, but to no avail.
