note: Fenomena pengemis merupakan fenomena yang terus menjadi pusat perhatian di setiap daerah di Indonesia, bahkan jenis dan motif dari pengemis juga beragam. Larangan untuk mengemis telah tertuang dalam Pasal 504 Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Pidana (KUHP), Buku ke-3 tentang Tindak Pidana, dan tentunya pihak Dinas Sosial telah memiliki ide atau kontribusi kepada para gelandangan dan juga pengemis, namun tidak memberikan dampak yang maksimal. Oleh karenanya dalam penelitian ini, peneliti berfokus pada konsep diri pengemis untuk keberlangsungan hidup, hal ini untuk mengetahui keseluruhan pilihan hidup sebagai seorang pengemis. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan teori fenomenologi Alfred Schutz dan teori self perception sebagai teori yang relevan dalam penelitian ini. Selain itu dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan paradigma konstruktivisme dengan metode kualitatif karena memiliki kesesuaian dalam sifat dan karakteristik permasalahan dalam penelitian. Selain itu, dalam penelitian ini, peneliti berfokus pada wilayah Kecamatan Serang, kota Serang Banten.
abstract: The beggar phenomenon is a phenomenon that continues to be the center of attention
in every region in Indonesia. The types and motives of beggars also vary. The
prohibition on begging is stated in Article 504 of the Criminal Code (KUHP), Book 3
on Criminal Acts, and of course the Social Service has had ideas or contributions for
homeless people and also beggars, but it has not had the maximum impact.
Therefore, in this study, the researcher focuses on the self-concept of beggars for
survival, this is to find out the overall life choices as a beggar. In this research,
researchers used Alferd Schutz's phenomenological theory and self-perception theory
as relevant theories in this research. Apart from that, in this research, researchers
used a constructivist paradigm with qualitative methods because they are compatible
with the nature and characteristics of the problems in the research. Apart from that,
in this research, researchers focused on the Serang District area, Serang City,
Banten.
