description: The beggar phenomenon is a phenomenon that continues to be the center of attention  in every region in Indonesia. The types and motives of beggars also vary. The  prohibition on begging is stated in Article 504 of the Criminal Code (KUHP), Book 3  on Criminal Acts, and of course the Social Service has had ideas or contributions for  homeless people and also beggars, but it has not had the maximum impact.  Therefore, in this study, the researcher focuses on the self-concept of beggars for  survival, this is to find out the overall life choices as a beggar. In this research,  researchers used Alferd Schutz's phenomenological theory and self-perception theory  as relevant theories in this research. Apart from that, in this research, researchers  used a constructivist paradigm with qualitative methods because they are compatible  with the nature and characteristics of the problems in the research. Apart from that,  in this research, researchers focused on the Serang District area, Serang City,  Banten.
