description: This research was conducted to examine the impact of being fatherless on young adult women in choosing partners, using a qualitative approach with a case study method. The informants who are the subjects of this study consist of 3 young adult women aged 20-25 who have experienced the absence of a father figure both physically and emotionally since childhood due to the background of their father's death and their parents' divorce. With the determination of informants using purposive sampling technique. The data collection method in this study uses in- depth interviews with 37 questions related to partner selection according to De Genova. The validity of the data is tested using the method of data source triangulation. The data analysis techniques used in this research include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Research findings indicate that early adult women who experience the absence of a father figure prefer partners from a similar socio-economic class. The absence of considerations regarding education level, choosing a partner with the same beliefs, and being less tolerant of partners with differing beliefs. In avoiding conflicts regarding racial and ethnic differences, young adult women who are fatherless choose partners with similar racial and cultural backgrounds, establishing criteria for the attitudes and behaviors of partners that can fill the void left by the absence of a father figure. The emotional emptiness of the father role significantly influences the criteria for choosing older partners. An objective and realistic view on the similarities in attitudes and values of partners, criteria for role equality, and habits in choosing a partner.
