description: The purpose of this study is to determine how the effect of group counseling services with assertive training can help students improve interpersonal communication skills with peers. Quasi-experimental design is the method used in this study. The population in this study were 144 students who were students in grades XI-1 to XI-4 at Yuppentek 1 High School in Tangerang City. The pre-test results showed that out of a total of 144 students, there were 10 students in the low category, 95 students in the medium category, and 39 students in the high category. The treatment was given to students who were in the low category as many as 10 students and divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group with each group   consisting of 5 students. The data analysis method used is Mann-Whitney U hypothesis test analysis and Gain Score analysis. Based on the results of the Mann-Whitney U hypothesis test analysis, the Sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.007. As seen in hypothesis decision making, the value of 0.007 is lower than 0.05, so it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted. Thus, it means that there is a success of the influence of assertive training to improve interpersonal communication skills with peers in students.
