description: This study aimed to determine the effect of mulching and various doses of mycorrhizal fertilizer on the growth and yield of purple eggplant (Solanum melongena L.). This research consisted of two factors. The first factor was the use of mulch types, consisted of without mulch (M0), rice straw mulch (M1), silver black plastic mulch (M2). The second factor was the application of various doses of mycorrhizal fertilizers, consisted of 0 g/plant (D1), 5 g/plant (D2), 10 g/plant (D3), 15 g/plant (D4). The use of silver black plastic mulch (M2) gave good result on the parameters of plant height at 42 HST (50,03 cm), number of fruit per plant (10,22 fruit), weight. fruit per plant (1425,84 g), fruit length (18,79 cm) and fruit diameter (4,7 cm). The use of silver black plastic mulch (M2) can control weeds better than without mulch (M0) and rice straw (M1). Providing various doses of mycorrhizal fertilizer at a dose 10 g/plant (D3) a better result on the height parameters of plants aged 42 HST (53,26 cm) number of fruit per plant (10,52 fruit), weight fruit per plant (1466,19 g), fruit length (18,75 cm) and fruit diameter (4,67 cm). The treatment of mycorrhizal fertilizer dose using the best type of mulch is the combination M2D3 (black and silver plastic mulch with a 10 g mycorrhizal fertilizer dose/plant).
