description: Green Open Space (GOS) in urban areas is an important element in spatial  planning that provides significant benefits for life, not only can maintain and  improve environmental quality but can also be a symbol of city identity. Based on  Tangerang City Regional Regulation No. 6/2019, every city must have a minimum  of 30% green open space of the total area, of which 20% is public green space and  10% is private green space. The current percentage of green space in Tangerang  City is only 12% of its total area. Furthermore, it is difficult to access information  on green spaces, and related institutions and organizations are considered unable  to manage green spaces optimally. This is the main problem in optimizing the  management of green spaces in Tangerang City. This study aims to analyze the  application of the principles of Good Environmental Governance in the  management of green spaces in Tangerang City. This research uses the principles  of Good Environmental Governance according to Belbase (2010 : 8) in which there  are seven indicators, namely the Rule of Law, Participation and Representation,  Access to Information, Transparency and Accountability, Decentralization,  Institutions and Institutions, and Access to Justice. This research uses descriptive  qualitative methods. Data were collected through non-participant observation, indepth interviews, and documentation studies. The data analysis technique used the  Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that the management of green  spaces in Tangerang City by applying the principles of Good Environmental  Governance has helped encourage efforts to increase the area of green spaces. The  implementation has been quite optimal, but there are still some problems such as  difficulty in accessing information, especially data on green open space, lack of  transparency of green open space data. There is also a lack of transparency in  reports related to the implementation of activities that have been carried out
