description: Anyar waters are part of the Sunda Strait waters, where small-scale capture fisheries activities occur. The types of catches obtained by fishermen are varied, influenced by the fishing gear used and the time of fishing carried out. The dominant fishing gear used in the Anyar subdistrict is handline. This research aims to determine the composition of fish species caught by handlines. This research was conducted from October to November 2023. Data collection was carried out by participating in fishing activities directly on hand-line fishing vessels by recording the type, weight, and composition of the catch from each vessel. Fishing times have been carried out during the day and night. The results of fishing activities by hand-line fishing vessels, the largest composition of catch during the day is banyar cobs 2%, rabbitfish 5%, long jewed mackerel 18%, shark 5%, yellowtail 14%, grouper 3%, giant trevally 7%, ariid catfish 2 %, mackerel 21%, Spanish mackerel 17%, mackerel tuna 3%, barracuda 3%.  For catches made at night, namely shark 7.6%, yellowtail 3.1%, snapper fish 0.3%, red snapper 14.5%, grouper 5.1%, giant trevally 7.3%, sulfur goatfish 0.3%, white snapper/seabass 13.3%, coral trout 2.4%, ariid catfish 7.4 %, stingrays 29.5%, remora fish 2.2%, albacore 2.2%, barracuda 4.8%.
