This research employs a qualitative study with content analysis methodology. The data for this research is the content of the English textbook titled "Work in Progress" for tenth-grade high school students, published by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. The results of the analysis based on Yuen's cultural dimensions in the textbook are dominated by Perspectives, followed by Products, Persons, and Practices. Furthermore, the cultural categories based on Chao's theory (2011) are dominated by International culture, source culture, universality across cultures, intercultural interaction, and target culture. The cultural dimensions based on Yuen’s and Chao’s theories align with intercultural competence and global diversity in the Merdeka Curriculum. Yuen’s dimensions (products, practices, perspectives, and persons) and Chao’s categories (source culture, target culture, international culture, intercultural interaction, and universality across culture) support the objectives of the Merdeka Curriculum to understand and appreciate both Indonesian and foreign cultures.
