N1  - Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses pelestarian cagar budaya situs Patapan di Kecamatan Kibin Kabupaten Serang pada tahun 2010-2022. Indonesia adalah salah satu negara yang mempunyai warisan cagar budaya yang banyak dan tersebar di penjuru wilayah nusantara. Terdapat banyak cagar budaya yang harus dijaga dan dilestarikan kebudayaannya khususnya di wilayah Banten yang menyimpan banyak sekali benda-benda cagar budaya. Metode historis adalah suatu proses menguji, menjelaskan dan menganalisis. Metodologi penelitian sejarah adalah proses menguji dan menganalisa secara kritis rekaman dan peninggalan masa lampau. Metode ini sangat bermanfaat bagi sejarawan untuk merekonstruksi masa lampau secara imajinatif berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang diperoleh melalui historiografi. Tahapan tersebut terdiri dari pemilihan topik, heuristik, verifikasi, interpretasi dan penulisan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa situs Patapan ini merupakan situs peninggalan zaman megalitik karena dilihat dari bangunannya menyerupai punden berundak yang lazim dijumpai pada masa itu dan situs Patapan perlu dilestarikan keberadaannya karena melihat kondisi situs yang sedang berada dalam ancaman karena letak situs tersebut berada di dataran tinggi.

N2  - This research aims to find out the process of preserving the cultural heritage of the Patapan site in the Kibin sub-district, Serang Regency in 2010-2022. Indonesia is a country that has a large cultural heritage spread throughout the archipelago. There are many cultural heritage sites whose culture must be protected and preserved, especially in Banten region which holds a lot of cultural heritage objects. The historical method is a process of testing, explaining and analyzing. Historical research methodology is the process of critically examining and analyzing records and remains of the past. This method is very useful for historians to reconstruct the past imaginatively based on facts obtained through historiography. These stages consist of topic selection, heuristics, verification, interpretation and writing. The results of this research explain that the Patapan site is a heritage site from the megalithic era because seen from the building it resembles a terraced punden which was commonly found at that time and this site needs to be preserved due to the condition of the site which is under threat because the location of the site is in the highlands.
