One of the bus companies (PO) providing transportation services is Budiman. Transportation service providers often use standard clauses that are unilateral. One of the applications of standard clauses in PO Budiman is that lost, damaged, or exchanged goods are at the passenger's own risk. This study was conducted to determine how legal protection is given to consumers for the application of standard clauses by business actors and what the legal consequences are for business actors for the application of standard clauses. The research method used is the normative juridical method, namely by examining legal library materials or secondary data, namely data that refers to legal norms in laws and regulations, legal theories and using primary data as supporting data, namely conducting field research by interviewing the parties concerned. The results of this study are that the application of standard clauses by business actors does not provide legal protection for consumers even though there is an adequate Law for consumers, namely Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection (UUPK). These provisions are drafted unilaterally and tend to benefit business actors. On the other hand, consumers have a weaker position than business actors and often do not understand or realize the consequences of these clauses. And regarding the legal consequences for business actors related to the application of standard clauses by business actors, they can face various legal consequences. starting from the cancellation of the clause, the obligation to provide compensation to consumers, to administrative sanctions, criminal sanctions, or termination of business activities.
