High schools description: Learning culinary skills is very important for deaf students in order to develop their creativity in the field of vocational skills as preparation for starting an independent business or working after graduating from school. The culinary learning material given to deaf students starts from processing preparation, to serving food. Learning culinary skills for deaf students requires appropriate teaching methods or strategies, in order to optimize students' abilities in the learning process. This research aims to apply the explicit instruction method in improving the culinary skills of deaf students at the Al-Khairiyah Special School, Cilegon City. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental research method of one group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 4 deaf students. The research instrument uses tests. Data analysis uses parametric statistical test analysis, while hypothesis testing in this research uses the paired sample t-test. The results of this research show that the results of the significance level test obtained sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05 or 0.000 < 0.05. This means that there is a significant difference between the culinary skills abilities of deaf children before and after being given treatment using the explicit instruction method, so it can be concluded that HO is rejected and Ha is accepted, that is, there is an increase in donut making culinary skills using the explicit instruction method for deaf students in Special Schools.
