%D 2023 %O Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh dari penerapan metode reading aloud terhadap minat membaca dan keterampilan membaca pada siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Kramatwatu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen, pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain preangket-postangket and pretest-posttest one group design. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket minat membaca berupa preangket dan postangket serta tes keterampilan membaca berupa pretest dan posttest. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan minat membaca dari kegiatan preangket 80,323 hingga postangket 81,548. Kemudian, peningkatan nilai keterampilan membaca dari kegiatan pretest 56 hingga posttest 85. Terdapat pengaruh signifikan metode reading aloud terhadap minat membaca sesudah perlakuan dengan hasil 0,707. Kemudian, terdapat pengaruh signifikan metode reading aloud terhadap keterampilan membaca siswa sesudah perlakuan dengan hasil 0,622.
