note: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejarah berdirinya Museum Situs Kepurbakalaan Banten Lama, serta peranan Museum Situs Kepurbakalaan Banten Lama sebagai sumber pembelajaran sejarah di SMA Negeri 5 Kota Serang, sehingga siswa dapat mengetahui relevansi koleksi arkeologi Museum Situs Kepurbakalaan Banten Lama sebagai sumber pembelajaran sejarah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa metode kualitatif jenis deskriptif dengan sampel dari penelitian ini adalah staf Museum Situs Kepurbakalaan Banten Lama, guru-guru sejarah SMA Negeri 5 Kota Serang, dan siswa kelas XI IPS 3 SMA Negeri 5 Kota Serang yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Museum Situs Kepurbakalaan Banten Lama, yang didirikan tahun 1985 di lahan seluas 778 m² di Jalan Mesjid Agung Banten, Provinsi Banten, merupakan penjaga warisan budaya dan sejarah penting bagi Banten. Dengan koleksi artefak asli, replika, diorama, maket, dan berbagai jenis arkeologika, keramologika, numismatika, etnografika, dan seni rupa, museum ini dapat memberikan wawasan mendalam tentang kehidupan masa lalu di Banten. Museum Situs Kepurbakalaan Banten Lama dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber pembelajaran bagi siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 5 Kota Serang, hal ini dikarenakan koleksi yang terdapat di Museum Situs Kepurbakalaan Banten Lama memiliki relevansi yang signifikan sebagai sumber pembelajaran yang mampu memberikan wawasan kepada siswa khususnya dalam sejarah lokal dan dalam mengoptimalkan pemanfaatannya, guru harus menyesuaikan materi pembelajaran yang selaras dengan tujuan serta standar pendidikan yang berlaku.
abstract: This research aims to understand the history of the establishment of the Banten Lama Archaeological Site Museum and its role as a history learning resource at SMA Negeri 5 Kota Serang, allowing students to recognize the relevance of the museum's archaeological collections as a historical learning source. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with samples consisting of staff from the Banten Lama Archaeological Site Museum, history teachers from SMA Negeri 5 Kota Serang, and students from class XI IPS 3 at SMA Negeri 5 Kota Serang, selected through purposive sampling. The findings indicate that the Banten Lama Archaeological Site Museum, established in 1985 on a 778 m² site on Jalan Mesjid Agung Banten, Banten Province, serves as a guardian of important cultural and historical heritage for Banten. With collections including original artifacts, replicas, dioramas, models, and various types of archaeological, ceramic, numismatic, ethnographic, and fine art items, the museum provides deep insights into the past life of Banten. The Banten Lama Archaeological Site Museum can be utilized as a learning resource for Grade XI students at SMA Negeri 5 Kota Serang. This is because the museum's collections have significant relevance as a learning resource that can provide students with insights, especially into local history. To optimize its use, teachers must align the learning material with educational goals and standards.
