The use of columns with large enough dimensions will have an impact on the size of the room which becomes smaller. This can cause the function of the room to be disrupted. As an alternative, slender columns are made so that the problem of reducing the planned room area is resolved. This study was conducted to determine the need for slender column reinforcement and behavior in a 3-storey residential building in accordance with SNI 2847: 2019 and conduct a safety check of the building structure against the deviation that occurs according to SNI 1726: 2019. Structural analysis was carried out with the ETABS v9.7.1 program and manual calculations to determine the configuration of slender column reinforcement. The results obtained are the 10D16 rectangular column reinforcement configuration with D10-100 mm stirrups in the plastic joint area D10-150 mm outside the plastic joint, the 16D16 L column reinforcement configuration with D10-100 mm stirrups in the plastic joint area D10-100 mm outside the plastic joint, the 10D16 T column reinforcement configuration with D10-100 mm stirrups in the plastic joint area D10-100 mm outside the plastic joint, the 12D16 + column reinforcement configuration with D10-100 mm stirrups in the plastic joint area D10-100 mm outside the plastic joint.
