description: Children with autism have impaired abilities in the areas of communication, behavior, emotions and sensory. Verbal communication strategies for autistic children can be done by inviting the child to speak slowly and using clear lip movements. One of the things that underlies the verbal communication skills of speaking in autistic children is the parenting style of parents. Good parenting style is an important aspect and has a big influence on the verbal communication skills of children with autism. The research method used in this research is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection uses observation techniques, interviews, documentation and field notes. Data analysis was carried out in the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data is tested by triangulation as a comparison or examination of the data and preventing errors in data analysis. The parenting pattern applied by each parent to the verbal communication skills of speaking in class VIII autistic children at SMPKh Negeri 02 Serang City is that parents R and H apply a democratic parenting pattern and parents I and D apply a democratic parenting pattern combined with a permissive parenting pattern. Parenting patterns have an influence in encouraging verbal communication skills in children with autism.
