description: Background: The postpartum or postpartum period (Puerperium) is the period   that begins after the birth of the placenta and ends when the uterine organs return   to their pre-pregnancy state. Newborn babies must receive optimal care from an   early age, including providing ideal food. There is no single ideal food for   newborns other than breast milk. Objective: The aim of this case study is to   provide nursing care for spontaneous post partum patients with a knowledge   deficit on exclusive breastfeeding using educational measures in the Wijaya   Kusuma Room at RSUD dr. Dradjat Prawiranegra. Method: The method used in   this case study is a descriptive method in the form of a case study of a post partum   mother with a deficit in knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding with a nursing care   approach which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning,   implementation and evaluation. Results: effectiveness of nursing actions on Mrs.   M is faster than Mrs. J, because Mrs. A, after being given counseling 3 times, did   not understand what Exclusive Breastfeeding was and when reviewed on the third   day, he was not able to explain Exclusive Breastfeeding again. It was found that   in cases lasting 4 days, both patients had shown changes in knowledge of   exclusive breastfeeding and were in accordance with theory. Although among the   first patients Mrs. J and the second patient Mrs. M differs in the time of   understanding of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding in patients.   Conclusion: Exclusive breastfeeding education is very effective in increasing the   knowledge of post partum mothers who do not know how to provide exclusive   breastfeeding.
