description: A rooftop greenhouse faces several challenges, including human error and high  temperatures. Due to its relatively small size, a hydroponic system, specifically the  ebb and flow method, was chosen to maintain optimal soil moisture levels. Based  on these challenges, this research aims to design and develop an automated system  capable of regulating soil moisture for plant seedlings within the greenhouse. The  system utilizes a Wemos D1 R1 microcontroller, a YL-69 soil moisture sensor, an  HC-SR04 water level sensor, and a DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor. The  system is connected to a database via Wi-Fi and can be accessed through an app or  web browser. The research findings indicate that the system effectively controls soil  moisture by reading data from the YL-69 sensor. The system automatically waters  the plants when soil moisture drops below 70% and drains excess water when it  reaches 75%. To prevent overfilling, the HC-SR04 sensor monitors water level and  activates solenoids and pumps to adjust water levels accordingly, turning off when  the water reaches 15cm during filling and 4cm during draining.
