Fisheries. Angling description: Blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) is a fishery resource that has high economic value and is an export commodity. The high and continuous demand of crabs has encouraged an increase in fishing efforts. A collapsible trap is an effective fishing gear used to catch crab. However, the productivity of this trap must be increased. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of differences color in funnel entrance of trap for crab fishing. This research was carried out from August to November 2023 at the Fisheries Technology and Management Laboratory, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. Laboratory experiments were conducted using a rectangular tank measuring 5 meters long, 1 meter wide and 0.5 meters high with three different traps. We used control traps with natural bait (KA) and artificial bait (KB), trap with yellow entrance with natural bait (MKA) and artificial bait (MKB), and trap with red entrance with natural bait (MMA) and artificial bait (MMB). Each repetition used 8 different individual crabs with a total of 10 repetitions for each treatment. The cranb’s response and behavior of was observed and recorded using an infrared camera. Data was analyzed using video tracking software. Data were analyzed descriptively and one-way ANOVA was used to determine the most effective trap design. The test results showed that the highest number of responding crabs was in the MKA trap, namely 13 with the fastest response time of 12 minutes, the KA trap caught 6 with the fastest response time of 1 minute, and the MMA trap caught 5 crabs with the fastest response time of 10 minutes. The KB trap caught 8 crabs with the fastest response time of 2 minutes, the MKB trap caught 6 crabs with the fastest response time of 95 minutes, and the MMA trap caught 1 crab with the fastest response time of 27 minutes.
