This study is a qualitative study with a phenomenology approach. A qualitative study aims to prove the advantage by using textbooks from observation data, interviews, documents, and taking a note on the field. the data from biology teachers and students grade 11 MIPA 2nd. final results of an interview before the study were mentioned by a teacher in textbooks and students' worksheets. at this point the results of an interview as the same as when the observation about studying activity ran off. using textbooks based on what the topic will be delivered. the problem when using textbooks some students forgot to bring a book with result that take a time to borrow it from the library
