N1  - Partisipasi politik merupakan aspek penting dalam sebuah tatanan negara 
demokrasi sekaligus merupakan ciri khas adanya modernisasi politik. Partisipasi 
politik dalam ruang lingkup masyarakat adat sangat menarik mengingat 
keberadaan mereka memiliki karakteristik, nilai dan norma tersendiri. Penelitian 
menggunakan teori partisipasi politik dari Huntington dan Nelson tahun 1984. 
Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan 
pendekatan kualitatif dan bersifat deskriptif. Hasil penelitain menunjukkan bahwa 
partisipasi politik di Kasepuhan Adat Ciptagelar ini merujuk pada partisipasi 
politik Mobilisasi dimana masyarakat Kasepuhan adat Ciptagelar melaksanakan 
kegiatan Partisipasi Pilkada Gubernur 2018 dengan sikap yang masih patuh, atau 
hormat kepada kepla adat. Berdasarkan temuan menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi 
politik masyarakat Ciptagelar tergolong tinggi karena danya beberapa faktor. 
Penulis menganalisis berdasarkan hasil temuan dilapangan terjadinya partisipasi 
yang dimobilsasi oleh lembaga adat serta terjadinya relasi aktor politik dan kepala 
adat. Partisipasi yang dimobilisasikan terjadi di Ciptagelar karena adanya aktor 
utama dibalik masyarakat adat yang sebagai partisipan yang memiliki tujuan 
menggerakkan mereka, kebanyakan dari para masyarakat Ciptagelar yang 
tergolong sebagai partisipan yang ada dilapangan hanyalah mengikuti sebuah 
instruksi dari tokoh adat. Melalui kegiatan sawala yang berlangsung sudah jelas 
bahwa kegiatan tersebut bertujuan memusyawarahkan siapa bakal calon yang 
akan dipilih. Dalam ruang lingkup masyarakat adat, peran kepala adat dapat 
disimpulkan bahwa kepala adat sangat berperan dalam pengambilan keputusan 
seperti yaitu memecahkan masalah-masalah adat istiadat, sosial kemasyarakatan, 
dan politik khususnya pemilihan umum, yaitu memberikan arahan kepada 
masyarakat untuk turut serta dalam pemilihan umum memberikan suara untuk 
memilih salah satu calon yang telah menjadi kesepakatan antara kepala adat 
dengan pihak calon.

N2  - Political participation is an important aspect in a democratic state order as well 
as a hallmark of political modernization. Political participation within the scope 
of indigenous peoples is very interesting considering that their existence has its 
own characteristics, values and norms. The research uses the political 
participation theory of Huntington and Nelson in 1984. The research approach 
used in this study uses a qualitative and descriptive approach. The results of the 
research show that political participation in the Ciptagelar Indigenous 
Kasepuhan refers to the political participation of Mobilization in which the 
Ciptagelar Kasepuhan adat community carries out the 2018 Governor Election 
Participation activities with an attitude that is still obedient, or respectful to the 
adat chief. Based on the findings, it shows that the political participation of the 
Ciptagelar community is high due to several factors. The author analyzes based 
on the findings in the field the occurrence of participation mobilized by customary 
institutions and the occurrence of relations between political actors and 
traditional leaders. Mobilized participation occurs in Ciptagelar because of the 
main actor behind the indigenous peoples who as participants who have the goal 
of moving them, most of the Ciptagelar people who are classified as participants 
in the field just follow an instruction from traditional leaders. Through the sawala 
activity that took place it was clear that the activity was aimed at discussing who 
would be the candidate to be elected. Within the scope of indigenous peoples, the 
role of the customary head can be concluded that the customary head is very 
instrumental in making decisions such as solving problems of customs, social 
society, and politics, especially the general election, which is giving direction to 
the community to participate in the general election by voting. to choose one of 
the candidates that has become an agreement between the customary head and 
the candidate.
