Abstract
Demonstration action on the 20th anniversary of reforms stained by chaos (21/05/2018) became an issue highlighted by various media, including online media. The aim of this paper want to know the framing of this news in online media with a certain frame that potentially influences audience perception. In this paper, the author uses qualitative research methods and framing analysis concepts from Robert N. Entman to analyze how suarakarya.id and okezone.com as online media was framing the incident of unrest that occurred during student demonstrations on the 20th anniversary of reform. The results show that a similar unrest incident about the 20th anniversary of reform can be framed and constructed by the media differently. Suarakarya.id further highlighted that the repressive actions of the policies are the source of the problem and okezone.com highlight the provocative actions of students who are the source of a problem in unrest incident of demonstrations 20th anniversary of reforms.
