Abstract

The purpose of this research in increase activity and student learning outcomes in social studies subject of the struggle for Indonesian independence through the application of problem-based learning model. This research was conducted because of the low value of student learning outcomes in the subject. Subjects in this study were 39 students. Data collection techniques were used that test, observation, field notes, interviews, and documentation. While the instrument used for data collection which tests students' learning outcomes in the form of a matter of evaluation and observation sheet. The results showed an increase in activity also led to increased student learning outcomes. In the first cycle the percentage of student activity reached 67%, while in the second cycle the percentage of student activity increased to 100%. The percentage of student learning outcomes in the first cycle is 71.8% with an average value of 64.23%, while the percentage of the results of the test on the second cycle has risen 94.88%. Results of the study after learning process classified by categories with indicators of success, reaching a value above KKM that exceeds 80%. So the conclusions that can be drawn from this study that with the implementation of problem-based learning model can improve the activity and student learning outcomes in social. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS pokok bahasan perjuangan mempertahankan kemerdekaan Indonesia melalui penerapan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena rendahnya nilai hasil belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan tersebut. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 39 siswa. Metode penelitian menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes, observasi, catatan lapangan, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan instrument yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data yaitu tes hasil belajar siswa dalam bentuk soal evaluasi serta lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan aktivitas yang menyebabkan meningkatnya pula hasil belajar siswa. Pada siklus I presentase aktivitas siswa mencapai angka 67%, sedangkan pada siklus II presentase aktivitas siswa mengalami peningkatan mencapai 100%. Presentase hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I yaitu 71,8% dengan nilai rata-rata 64,23%, sedangkan presentase hasil tes pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan yaitu 94,88%. Hasil belajar setelah proses pembelajaran tersebut tergolong dengan kategori baik dengan indikator keberhasilan mencapai nilai diatas KKM yaitu melebihi 80%. Sehingga simpulan yang dapat diambil dari penelitian ini bahwa dengan diterapkannya model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS.
