Abstract
The research was motivatedby thelack ofstudent learning outcomes in social science subject which is still using learning strategies at the four grade SDN Baketor. Students generally only listen, read and memorize the information obtained, so the concept is not strong embedded. The purpose of this study was to determine the learning out comes of students in the social sciences through learning start with a question strategiesan ddetermine the activityof students in the implementation of learning by using learning start with a question strategies. This study used action research by teacher learning start with a question strategies, which was held on two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meeting sincluding planning, implementation, observation, andreflection. Data collection techniques in this study using the test results of students' learning, observation of student activity using the assessment scores, and interview guidance. Based on the research that has been carried out, showing that in cycle 1 students which completed a total students as much as 55%. In cycle II to 92.5% an increase of 23.5 % which is in line with the indicators of success which has been established and has been achieved. This study concludes that the application of the learning start with a question strategies in social science learning can improve student learning out comes. Additional Information: | Penelitian ini dilator belakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS dan masih menggunkan metode pembelajaran yang klasikal dikelas IV SDN Baketor. Siswa pada umumnya hanya mendengarkan, membaca dan menghafal informasi yang diperoleh, sehingga konsep yang tertanam tidak kuat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran IPS melalui strategi pembelajaran Learning Start with a Question dan mengetahui aktivitas siswa pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunkan strategiLearning Start with a Question. Penelitian ini menggunkan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan strategi pembelajaran Learning Start with a Question, yang dilaksanakan pada 2 siklus, setiap siklusnya terdiri dari 2 pertemuan adanya perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunkan tes hasil belajar siswa, observasi aktivitas siswa dengan menggunakan penilaian skor, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan, menunjukan bahwa pada siklus I hasil belajar siswa 55%. Pada siklus ke II dipersentasikan yaitu 92.5% terjadi peningkatan sebanyak 37.5% hal ini sesuai dengan indikator keberhasilan yang telah ditetapkan dan telah tercapai. Penggunaan strategi Learning Start with a Question pada pembelajaran IPS dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.
