Abstract

The aim in this study was to determine 1) the behavior of the child discipline in the group B at EvFiA LAND School Serang 2) Montessori method of learning process to develop discipline children in group B at EvFia LAND School Serang and 3) factors inhibiting discipline children in group B in EvFia LAND School Serang. This researchwas conducted from April to May 2014. The subjects in this research were children in group B, amounting to 18 children. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. The technique of collecting data by observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the discipline of children in group B at EvFia LAND School Serangwell developed. It can be observed behavior of disciplines that include behavioral aspects of responsibility, compliance and confident children in school everyday. Can also be observed during the learning process takes place in Montessori’s room, children behave discipline with Montessori rules during the learning with the peculiarities of this method include using the mat before work, using tools from left to right, top to bottom, using the apron during work, using special material that has been designed so that children are able to complete the task independently (control of errors), using the stage in understanding the concept (Three Period Lesson), restore the appliance to its place, waiting for their turn while using the same tool, trims back the tool that has been used. The inhibiting factors include differences in perception of discipline children between parents and schools, teachers, children of different characters also. Additional Information: Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui 1) perilaku disiplin anak kelompok B di EvFiA LAND School Serang 2) proses pembelajaran metode Montessori untuk mengembangkan kedisiplinan anak kelompok B di EvFia LAND School Serang dan 3) Faktor-faktor penghambat kedisiplinan anak kelompok B di EvFia LAND School Serang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan April sampai Mei 2015. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah anak kelompok B yang berjumlah 18 anak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui pengamatan, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedisiplinan anak kelompok B di EvFia LAND School Serang berkembang dengan baik. Hal ini dapat diamati perilaku disiplin yang mencakup aspek perilaku tanggungjawab, kepatuhan dan percaya diri anak sehari-hari di sekolah. Juga dapat diamati pada saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung di ruang Montessori, anak-anak berperilaku disiplin dengan aturan Montessori selama pembelajaran dengan kekhasan dari Metode ini diantaranya menggunakan mat sebelum bekerja, menggunakan alat dari kiri ke kanan, atas ke bawah, menggunakan celemek selama bekerja, menggunakan material khusus yang telah dirancang agar anak mampu menyelesaikan tugasnya secara mandiri (control of error), menggunakan tahapan dalam memahami konsep (Three Period Lesson), mengembalikan alat ke tempatnya semula, menunggu giliran saat menggunakan alat yang sama, merapihkan kembali alat yang sudah digunakan. Adapun faktor penghambat kedisiplinan anak diantaranya perbedaan persepsi antara orang tua dan sekolah, guru, juga karakter anak yang berbeda.
