Abstract

This research has been carried out in September to Desember 2014 at the experimental Horticulture, Institute for Agricultural Technology (BPTP)Banten and Laboratory Agroecotechnology Faculty of Agriculture, was University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. The purpose of the research to investigate the respons of the growth and the yield of some varieties of eggplant at some planting media. This study used a randomized completety block design (RCBD)with two factors. The first factor was the combination of some planting media consisting of four levels. Those are planting medium husk, sawdust and cocopeat each planting medium is mixed with soil and chicken manure in the ratio (2:1:1)and the second factor was the variety with two levels ie Panjalu varieties and green Ratih varieties. The results of the study showed that in a single treatment the best varieties was V1 for plant height was 26.12 cm and the number of leaves were 17.87 strand, while the best planting medium was M3 for plant height 33.75 cm and the number of leaves were 16.50 strand, and interaction in both treatments showed no significant effect.
