Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode simulasi dan penerapan metode role playing terhadap kemampuan membaca puisi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 14 Kota Serang dan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil penelitian antara penerapan metode simulasi dan metode role playing terhadap kemampuan membaca puisi siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 14 Kota Serang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen yang menggunakan kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok pembanding dengan teknik rumus uji-t. Terdapat beberapa jenis penelitian eksperimen. Peneliti dapat menentukan apakah menggunakan satu kelompok atau dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimental-kelompok yang diberikan stimulus-dan kelompok pembanding-kelompok yang tidak diberikan stimulus. Populasi penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 14 Kota Serang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random, diperoleh kelas VII E dan VII F sebagai subjek penelitian. Instrumen untuk memperoleh data penelitian berupa tes membaca puisi. Berdasarkan hipotesis yang telah dirumuskan, teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus Uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan harga t hitung ( ) telah diperoleh yaitu -0,36 dan derajat kebebasan 76. Dalam perhitungan tersebut, t tabel ( ) derajat kebebasan 76 diketahui taraf signifikan 5% (t.s 0,05) adalah 1,67. Dengan diketahuinya t tabel ( ) 1,67 > -0,36, dapat dibandingkan bahwa t tabel ( ) lebih besar dari t hitung ( ) maka hipotesis nol (Ho) di terima, dan menolak hipotesis alternatif (Ha). Oleh karena itu, eksperimen yang dilakukan mempunyai pengaruh pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Artinya, ada perbedaan pada kemampuan membaca puisi siswa yang signifikan antara penerapan metode simuasi (kelas eksperimen) dan metode role playing (kelas pembanding). Hasil penelitian ini juga membuktikan bahwa metode role playing berpengaruh dibandingkan penggunaan metode simulasi terhadap kemampuan membaca puisi siswa, maka penggunaan metode role playing layak dijadikan sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca puisi siswa khususnya pada jenjang Sekolah Menengah Pertama.

| Additional Information: | The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of simulation methods and the application of role playing methods to poetry reading abilities of class VII students of Serang State Middle School 14 and to find out the differences in the results of research between the application of simulation methods and role playing methods to poetry reading abilities of class VII students of State Middle School 14 City of Serang. The method used in this research is the experimental method that uses the experimental group and the comparison group with the t-test formula technique.There are several types of experimental research. Researchers can determine whether to use one group or two group, namely the experimental group the group given the stimulus and the comparison group the group that was not given a stimulus. The population of this study is class VII students of Serang State Middle School 14.sampling using random techniques, obtained classes VII E and VII F as the subject of research. Instrument to obtain research data in the form of poetry reading test. Based on the hypothesis that has been formulated, the data analysis technique using the t-test formula. The results showed that the price of t count ( ) was obtained -0,36 and 76 degrees of freedom. In this calculation, t table ( ) degrees of freedom 76 found a significant level of 5% (t. 0.05) was 1.67. By knowing t table ( ) 1,67 > - 0,36, it can be compared that t count ( ) is smaller than t table ( ), then the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted, and reject the alternative hypothesis (Ha). Therefore, the experiments carried out did not have an effect at a significant level of 0.05. that is, there is no difference in the students‟ poetry reading ability which is significant between the application of the simulation method (experimental class) and the role playing method (comparison class). The result of this study also prove that the role playing method has an effect compared to the use of simulation methods on the ability to read poetry of students, so the use of role playing methods is appropriate as an effort to improve students poetry reading skill, especially at junior high school level. | |||||||||
