Abstract

This research was conducted to find out students‟ motivation in English language learning at Lantaratpracha utit School and the reflection of their motivation in English classroom activities. Gardner‟s (1985) theory of motivation was used in this research. The qualitative research design was employed in particularly case study in conducting the research. To collecting the data for this research were employed three instruments;questionnaire,observation and interview. Close-ended questionnaire was administered to 17 students of grade fifth in Lantaratprachautit School in order to answer the first research question and the observations were conducted to answer the second research question about the reflections of the motivation in English classroom. The observation used for three students who were purposively chosen with different level of motivation. Furthermore, semistructured interview was also conducted to triangulate the data in this research. Based on the data analysis this research showed that most of the participants (70%) had low of Motivation English language learning and students‟ motivation were congruent with their learning engage classroom activities. In conclusion, students‟ motivation in English language learning were obviously reflected in their engage classroom activities in English teaching and learning.
