Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning berbasis kontekstual terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada konsep zat adiktif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain quasi experiment design. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 68 siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Kota Serang tahun ajaran 2018/2019 yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel dengan pertimbangan tertentu. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kritis tertulis materi zat adiktif dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan model. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test, hasil tes siswa dianalisis menggunakan program IBM SPSS Statistic 20. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh model problem based learning berbasis kontekstual terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada konsep zat adiktif. Hasil penelitian ini dibuktikan dari nilai signifikansi uji t-test sebesar 0,001 (α ≤ 0,05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model problem based learning berbasis kontekstual berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada konsep zat adiktif.

Additional Information: This study aims to determine the effect of contextual based problem based learning models on students' critical thinking skills in the concept of addictive substances. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a quasi experiment design. The study sample consisted of 68 class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Kota Serang in the 2018/2019 academic year which were selected using sampling techniques with certain considerations. The research instruments used in this study were tests of critical thinking skills written on addictive material and model implementation observation sheets. The data analysis technique used the independent sample t-test test, the student test results were analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 20. The results showed that there were influential context- based problem-based learning models on students' critical thinking skills in the concept of addictive substances. The results of this study are proven from the significance value of the t-test test of 0.001 (α ≤ 0.05). The results of this study indicate that the application of context-based problem based learning models influences students' critical thinking skills in the concept of addictive substances.
