Abstract
Research conducted in SMP Negeri 9 Serang City is motivated by the ability to read low understanding of students, especially in the ability to read the understanding of short stories text. The formulation of the problem in this research is whether there is influence from the use of learning model of Scramble and Word Squre to the ability of reading text understanding of the short stories in the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Kota Serang, And whether there is a difference from the use of Scramble and Word Square learning model to the ability to read the understanding of short story text in the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Serang City. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the use of learning model of Scramble and Word Squre on the ability of reading text comprehension of the short stories in the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Kota Serang. In addition, to know the difference from the use of learning models Scramble and Word Square on the ability to read the understanding of short story text in the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Serang City.

| Additional Information: | Penelitian yang dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 9 Kota Serang ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa yang rendah, khsusunya dalam kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks cerpen. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu apakah terdapat pengaruh dari penggunaan model pembelajaran Scramble dan Word Squre terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks cerpen pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 9 Kota Serang, dan apakah terdapat perbedaan dari penggunaan model pembelajaran Scramble dan Word Square terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks cerpen pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 9 Kota Serang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penggunaan model pembelajaran Scramble dan Word Squre terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks cerpen pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 9 Kota Serang.
