Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan memanfaatkan lingkungan sekitar terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII pada konsep getaran dan gelombang. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMPN 1 Pasar Kemis Kabupaten Tangerang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen yang menggunakan desain Nonequivalen Control Group Design. Model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan memanfaatkan lingkungan sekitar sebagai variabel bebas, sedangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebagai variabel terikat. Populasi data penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Pasar Kemis tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu Kelas VIII-2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan Kelas VIII-3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara Purposive Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan pretest dan posttest yang berupa 5 butir soal uraian untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dan lembar observasi untuk mengetahui keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis pada kelas eksperimen yaitu 67,9 sedangkan nilai rata-rata pada kelas kontrol yaitu 60,4. Berdasarkan uji t pada kemampuan berpikir kritis diperoleh signifikansi sebesar 0,014 (0,014 < 0,05) hal tersebut berarti Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan memanfaatkan lingkungan sekitar terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

| Additional Information: | This study aims to determine the effect of problem-based learning models by utilizing the surrounding environment on the critical thinking skills of class VIII students on the concepts of vibration and waves. This research was conducted at Pasar Kemis 1 Junior High School, Tangerang. This research is a quasi- experimental using the design of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Problem based learning model by utilizing the surrounding environment as an independent variable, while critical thinking ability as a dependent variable. The population of this research data is all eighth grade students of Pasar Kemis 1 Junior High School in the academic year 2017/2018. The study sample consisted of two classes, namely Class VIII-2 as the experimental class and Class VIII-3 as the control class. The sampling technique is carried out by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques using pretest and posttest in the form of 5 items of description questions to measure students' critical thinking skills and observation sheets to determine the implementation of learning. The results showed that the average value of critical thinking skills in the experimental class was 67.9 while the average value in the control class was 60.4. Based on the t test on critical thinking skills obtained significance of 0.014 (0.014 <0.05) this means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is the influence of the problem-based learning model by utilizing the surrounding environment towards students' critical thinking abilities. | |||||||||
